Gatekeeper’s House Ingelfingen
The history of the Gatekeeper’s House in Ingelfingen dates back to 1720. After two demolitions, it was rebuilt in 1835. The clockwork likely comes from an even earlier structure. The ground floor contained a wooden chamber and a heated prison room, while the upper floor had a heated living room, a chamber, and a kitchen.
In 2008, Fritz Müller, founder of GEMÜ and owner of the castle hotel, purchased the building and had it completely restored. Today, the Gatekeeper’s House, with its originally plastered timber frame, is a cultural monument and houses a permanent exhibition.
